Re: Care and Upbringing of children B B A new subject in the educational curriculum

Introduction
Plato has put the question what could judges do with parents who are not able to bring up children
adequately. As speech therapist I have taught parents how to talk with their children.
Parents change their behavior; many said, if only we had known that before. It is time to put the fine
points of parenting in the curriculum of compulsory educational subjects in school.

Life's practicalities
Disfunctionings in social and psychologival fields; criminality, lack of language, poverty,
underdevelopment, war, child labor, child abuse.

The solutions we use at present.
Researches and world wide debates about all disfunctioning, information for parents to be, for parents and others who bring up children, advise by phone and through courses in parenting, preschool teaching and other social structures that go with problem children.

Children's problems are reduced by 60% when all parents know some basic rules about upbringing.
It becomes easier and there is less wrong behavior. The usual solutions put in at present are too late and don't seem to diminish the overall child problems. And that is because the subject has never been introduced under CARE AND UPBRINGING of children in the school curriculum.

A new way.
Can parents who are unable to bring up their children be brought before the court?
We are still waiting for an answer to that question (since Plato).
Has the time arrived in the year 2000 to try with a comb ined effort a new way that might lead:

TO TEACH YOUNGSTERS THE BASIC PRINCIPAL OF CARE AND UPBRINGING.
IN THE SAME WAY THAT THEY ARE TAUGHT READING, WRITING AND ARITHMETIC?

Progress to date of the forming of the lucky child institute.
In October 1994, I was introduced to the scientific world thanks to the Dutch organization of speech and phonetics -NVLF-Woerden, The Netherlands.
Theories have to be proven research in the interaction between parents and children remains necessary.
I have corresponded with government, church institution, the organization development of educational planning and representatives of public speaking and the press.
In 1997 I have started the Lucky Child institute. Co-operator mrs.dr. J.C. Wierda/Visser, psychologist, rewrote her course: Care and Upbringing in 1999.
As follow up from existing upbringing courses and study books.
Material for teaching care and upbringing can be put together for teachers and pupils.
In the same year the government of some 50 countries have been made aware of the new way of
education.

Purpose of the institute, Lucky Child
- to have Care and Upbringing introduced as a subject of compulsory education;
- pupils in compulsory education should know about Care and Upbringing.

Request to people īs representatives to insist that their government take the following steps:
- to reveal that in compulsory education no mention as yet is made of human development of baby to
  fullygrown person;
- to enlighten bpeople how important the first five years of life are. This can be done for instance through TV on advertisements;
- to introduce Care and upbringing as a subject in compulsory education.
